Parisian Photo Diary; Part 1

Hello everyone!

This post has been quite overdue and I think a quick little introduction is needed.  I've been very M.I.A. on the blogging scene since starting full time work, and in the last month, I have also ventured into moving in with my boyfriend, Alex.  It's safe to say that May has been pretty hectic, but the good kind of hectic.

Two weeks ago, Alex and I jetted off to Paris for a short break away from all things 'flat' related.  During our time there, we stayed in a beautiful boutique hotel named 'La Maison Favart' located in district 7.  The hotel was situated in a quieter part of Paris, yet still in walking distance of all of the main attractions.

For the most part of the trip, we opted to explore Paris by foot - the main reason for this being that we foolishly jumped into the first cab that we saw to get from Charles de Gaulle airport to our hotel on the first day, costing us 90 euros for a 20 minute journey (sigh).  Despite my poor feet seeing better days after hours of walking, I felt that this was the best way to see all that Paris had to offer and we also made plenty of pit stops for coffee and crepes at quirky cafes - and it was a great excuse to pop into lots of pharmacies along the way and splurge on beauty products (hellllo Bioderma & Caudalie haul).  I'm pretty sure the illuminated green 'plus' signs are the way to the hearts of many beauty bloggers.

Paris was so visually appealing, from the displays of baked goods at the Boulangeries, to the rustic buildings.  I absolutely adored the architecture of the Parisian buildings, and the gold-painted detailing on so many of them.  I also loved the quaint shabby chic shutters on the apartments along the streets, adorned with bunches of colourful flowers on the balconies and window sills.

I will be sharing more snaps from our visit over a few posts so be sure to check back soon to see what else we got up to during our trip!
