The Rome Series: 5 Days In The City

If you are following me on Instagram and Twitter, you may already know by now that I recently paid a visit to the beautiful city of Rome.  My boyfriend Alex and I stayed for 4 nights and I am suffering from some serious post-holiday blues right now.  We were incredibly lucky with the weather during our stay as before and after we left, the temperature has shot back up to around 30 degrees+.  It was pretty darn hot during our stay and we only had 25 degree weather, which was perfect for topping up on our tan (*burn, in my case) whilst allowing us to still explore the city by foot.  And trust me, that involves a LOT of walking.
I was planning on vlogging during our time out there and I successfully filmed quite a lot of the flight, but that's about as far as I got, sadly.  After a short flight, followed by a pretty long shuttle bus journey to our hotel, we were informed that our hotel had double-booked; we were put up in a nearby hotel for the first night and this slightly threw our plans for the first afternoon/evening and following morning a little off schedule.  Nevertheless, after the chaotic first day, we were then able to return to our actual hotel and the staff could not have been more accommodating.  I will talk a little more about our hotel in my upcoming posts.

As there was so much to see in such a short space of time and as I learnt a great deal about the culture/city too during our visit, I am going to be putting together a series of Rome-related posts.  My upcoming posts will delve into the pizza/pasta/gelato-goodness that we became accustomed to, along with personal tips which I picked up along the way during our stay.  But for now, let's just take a moment to soak up how gorgeous Rome is from the selection of photos above...
