Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream Stockholm Swatch
Okay guys, I think you're going to have to stop me.. my obsession with the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams is getting a little out of hand now.  If you've been reading my latest posts and tweets, you'll know by now that I have a thing for these, and I can't help but add a new lip cream to my basket whenever I'm placing a Boots or ASOS order. As my last NYX post only focussed on the 2 first shades that I picked up (Stockholm and Morocco), I decided to put up this post to show swatches of the newer shades that I've added to my ever-growing collection.

I didn't really think that another shade could top my love for Stockholm, but London has done just that. It really is the perfect '90s brown/nude' lip colour; I had doubts that I could pull off a brown-toned lip colour, but I'm beginning to convince myself that it can suit both mega-pale (AKA. me) and tanned skin. I think that the pigmentation of London is on par with Stockholm too, it's creamy yet slightly chalky feeling on application, which I don't actually mind. I also love that it's easy to top-up on the go without feeling like you need a lipliner to shape your lips.

I also picked up Istanbul based on how it looked online, in comparison to Stockholm. I thought it would be very similar in colour on application but I found it a little too pink-toned for me. It was so hard to get the colour to show up on camera as it does in real life but I found it to be a rosy-pink toned nude which wasn't really up my street.

Sydney is such a cute pastel pink shade and I honestly do love it; the application isn't as great as the other shades as it's a lot chalkier and almost rubs itself out the more product you apply; a few hours into wearing Sydney, it tends to dry in the cracks of my lips too. I don't particularly get along with the formulation of Sydney but I can completely overlook that because I love the shade so much. It's a great colour to brighten up and add a playful touch to any makeup look/outfit and will be great throughout the Summer months.

Lastly there's Morocco, which cannot be faulted. The pigmentation of the product is great, the colour is so vivid with a slightly orange undertone, which is something I always prefer when picking up red lipsticks and lip products. It's the perfect 'night out' type of shade, or if you're brave enough to wear a red lip in the daytime, this may be just for you.

My collection most certainly isn't going to stop here... I'm already convincing myself that I need Buenos Aires and Rome (pfft, as if I need any more convincing).

As always, please let me know your recommendations & favourite shades in the comments, I love to take note of them.

  2. These colours are gorgeous on your skintone! I recently purchased Abu Dhabi and it is such a gorgeous shade, I was going to pick up Stockholm too, but sadly the last one was bust open. I think I have to pick up all these shades asap though. I love how you showed the items on your lips, such a lovely way to show the colour pay off and shades.

    1. It's so strange how differently Istanbul comes up in this photo too, I still think it's slightly more brown-toned in real life but it's a gorgeous shade! Sydney is so easy to add a pop of colour into a spring look though :) xx

  7. Looks like you've got a great collection! I've just picked up Cannes and love it! I was originally planning on picking up Stockholm but when I swatched it I thought it looked a bit too light on me - but seeing it here has changed my mind and I want it again haha. London looks like a really lovely shade too :) x

    1. It's so strange as they seem to come up so different on each different skin shade. I've found that some shades have been a lot more pink on me in comparison to others where the lip shades can look orange toned! I will have to check out Cannes next time I pop into Boots :) xx
